English Language GCSE Revision

How does Oxford Revise support your English Language GCSE revision?

Whether you’re preparing for your exam or for a resit, we can show you how to make every minute of your English Language revision count. The Oxford Revise approach locks in knowledge and helps develop your exam technique so you can enter the exam hall bursting with confidence.

We have a wealth of experience in supporting students for Edexcel, Eduqas and AQA English Language GCSE exams. Oxford Revise guides are split into two sections – Concept Knowledge and Exam Knowledge. Exam Knowledge is broken down further to explore Paper 1 and Paper 2 questions in detail. Within each section, you will find:

  • Knowledge organisers: Each organiser clearly explains key concepts including rhetorical language, structuring an argument, and attitudes and perspective. They’ll help you to master how to analyse and interpret different types of text. You’ll also be able to look at Sample Answers with examiner’s comments so that you can see what each question is looking for, with expert tips about how to approach them.
  • Retrieval practice: These quick recall questions check your understanding of the knowledge from that section, with a few extra questions from earlier topics to test you further! Simply cover up the answers and complete as many as you can. With repeated practice you’ll quickly get to grips with the requirements of each exam.
  • Practice questions: The previous two steps help to lock in knowledge, so now it’s time to put that the the test with a selection of exam-style questions. There are different types of question, but all of them are examples of what you will see when you open that exam paper!
