Oxford revise and shakespeare’s globe revision study boosts

Oxford Revise teamed up with Shakespeare’s Globe to create Shakespeare revision study boosts for Year 11 students studying AQA GCSE Macbeth and Romeo and Juliet. 11 workshops took place around the country to over 300+ students.

What happened during the workshop

After brief introductions, each session started with warm-up activities used in theatres, to get everyone up on their feet and moving. Then we opened up the workshop packs and got to work.

These interactive workshops explored the play’s language, characters and themes using a range of acting techniques and drama activities. For example, an exercise using  pointing and clapping helped to reveal power dynamics between Lady Macbeth and Macbeth.

Take a look for yourself!

“This is a powerful combination: our drama-focused approach brings Shakespeare’s plays to life in a way that is truly memorable, while the cognitive science underpinning Oxford Revise provides students with tools to conslidate their learning”

Charlie Withers, Senior Learning Manager at Shakespeare’s Globe
